Sam Snape

playwright

Sam trained as a theatre director at the Drama Centre London but left after a year in order to pursue a career as an actor. Two or three magnificent failures later he realised that he was more a performing clown than a real actor.  So he decided that he really ought to be a director. He directed all over the UK for a few years until he found himself as Artistic Director of a theatre comany which couldn't afford a writer. So, he wrote a play.  THE MOLD MURDERS. This was a big success. A TV company filmed and televised the play and Sam had a new career.  Since then he has written extensively for TV, Theatre, Radio, Business and film. But he still loves directing live theatre and tries to direct at least one play a year. So when Cecile and Victoria asked him  to work with them on a play for Volapuk, he leapt at the chance. He's very happy to be in Norway,  working with two talented and delightful actresses on the challenging and emotional Iron Brew.

Sam is primarily a playwright and screenwriter but he has also directed more than 40 professional theatre, musical and opera  productions, produced two stage plays and very, very occasionally, acts.
